  What's G'up?:

"What's G'up?" One of my favorite expressions.  Probably doesn't make much sense to anyone outside my circle of friends, but with my friends, this expression can only make you laugh because it has happened to all of us.  'It' refers to that awkward conversation almost everyone has engaged in where the dialog wasn't, how can you say it, um, grammatically perfect.

I always had trouble making spilt second decision when it came to my witty comebacks to peers, both friends and foes.  Crossing paths with another individual made it even harder because you only had that one chance to answer the question, you crossed paths, and if you fucked up, you had no chance to redeem yourself.  Awkward conversations always ruled my life when I walked to campus of Slippery Rock University. I would see a buddy, a chick, or anyone really, and they would ask me "How you doin'?" and I would blabber back "NOTHING."  That makes no sense, not 'good' or 'alright', but 'NOTHING'. I  left my opposition in total disbelief.  Don't laugh, it probably has happened to you.

But as for What's G'up, this phrase came to me when I was confronted by a buddy who was across the street as I was walking into my house.  He said, "YO" and I tried a clever response, but somehow merged "What's Up" and "What's Good", and thus I uttered "What's G'up?"  Feeling absolutely embarrassed I fled to the confines of my home where I hoped never to see him again.

As I spread the story to my friends, they all seemed to enjoy my embarrassing conversational moment and from then on out, we have greeted each other with the expression and it has stuck ever since.

The shirt has my famous phrase across the chest and tommytwostep.com in the black underline.
